History

Farkhondeh started as a family business. And now with more than 500 employees.

In the following you will read the 60-year history of the oldest biscuit factory
on the Central Plateau of Iran.

The production of first biscuit in Esfahan

It was a hot summer in 1940, and only two years had passed since the opening of a first confectionery store in Isfahan by “Haj Abdullah Vaez Shoushtari”. He always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur in his city and finally took the first Isfahani biscuit out of his hand-made wall oven in a workshop located on Masjed Seyed Street in Isfahan.
He named this circular biscuit “Astara” and from the beginning on that year he was managed to sell the biscuit in Isfahan and its suburbs.

The production rate and the demand for his biscuits was increasing day by day, and the wall oven no longer met his production needs. So, Haj Abdullah built a 20-meter tunnel oven and simultaneously he purchased his second molding machine or printing biscuits.

Now it was the time to step forward for the sales of biscuit beyond Isfahan.very soon he served many customers demanding this Esfahani Biscuit from neighboring provinces and cities in the southern Iran .

Death of Haj Abduallah Shoushtari

Although the sudden death of my father in a plane crash sadden us and was devastating ,we could not give it up. The late Vaez Shoshtari’s heritage was the thought of growth and eloquence for his children. Biscuit production and the market development was strongly continued by his children and with the sympathy of Farkhondeh employees.

ASTARA was replaced by Farkhondeh

After the official registration of the brand, the name “Farkhondeh”,
which means Mubarak in Persian, replaced by ASTARA. A name with the reputation over the decades for creating many crisp and sweet memories for Iranian families .

Setting up factory number one line

By the end of the imposed Iran-Iraq war, our beloved country was rejuvenating and shaking off the dust of war, Farkhunda’s efforts were increasing day by day, he put his hands on his knees and took longer steps. With the establishment of Factory in JEY Industrial Zone, the industrial lines for productions of Farkhondeh Biscuit had been officially launched.

Export to CIS Countries and the addition of new flavores

FARKHONDEH taste was acquired by other Asian countries as well, and the first biscuit containers were exported to four Central Asian countries.
During this period, the vanilla flavor was added to the auspicious
products by the formula specialists team and products with this flavor were added.

Launching new production lines and receiving, The national standard certificate of Iran

It was a blessed year for Farkhondeh, with the efforts of Farkhondeh family and God’s help, factory new production lines were installed, a new mold of serving biscuits entered the production cycle and Farkhondeh became the first biscuit production company in Isfahan province to receive the national standard mark.

Again the domestic market development and again the increase in the products variety. This time the production of biscuits in the form of ZABAN at the same time as launching a new line; A shape that later other competitors emulated our success in their products.

A revolution in domestic biscuits with the first production of sesame biscuits in Iran

Farkhondeh, on his own initiative and in order to diversify and develop his products, after months of efforts by his baking experts and caliphs, produced and marketed the first sesame biscuits in Iran and surrounding countries, which caused a stir in the domestic and regional markets; This different and lovable product started the production of a new generation of biscuits in the country.

In addition, it launched several products with new flavors in the form of MADAR biscuits and strengthened its foothold in the capital market.

Export to Tajikistan, a neighboring country and same language started at this year. A year of peace before boom!

The efforts and consensus of Haj Abdullah’s sons to develop a new phase of factory production came to fruition after months. The new lines of the complex were launched with newer technology and the response to the powerful capacities of product demand was included in the work plan.

Starting the export to Australia , the sixth largest country in the world and several other countries,it was an honor given to us this year by the efforts of the Farkhondeh family and provided an introduction to the foreign market development in the upcoming year.

Start 12 years as a sample exporter and receive the toughest global certifications

For the first time, Farkhondeh was introduced as a provincial sample exporter; An honor that lasted for 12 consecutive years and formed a global position for this Isfahani brand.

 

On the other hand, ISO 22000 and HACCP certifications were obtained by Farkhondeh this year as strict international licenses in the field of food safety and their prerequisites, the ISO 9001 quality management standard.

Change the logo after 15 years and receive the employee occupational safety certificate

After 15 years, the farkhondeh logo changed and a new visual identity soon entered people’s minds.

 

Since maintaining the mental and physical health of employees ‘families is a high priority in Farkhondeh culture, OHSAS 18001 certification was obtained for the occupational safety of all employees’ families.

 

The production of barely biscuit,Reaching International Standards

Farkhondeh obtained ISO 14001, which has several requirements to prevent industries from harming the environment this year. The product Codex standard also obtained one of the most specialized standards for food industry quality management in the direction of consumer health by one of the most reputable international inspection companies, namely the Swiss company SGS.

This year, the first biscuit with barley flour was produced and marketed in Farkhondeh.

Foreign market development continued this year with the export of biscuits to Kyrgyzstan.

Starting the use of low trans oils in the production of biscuits

The use of low-trans fat in the production of biscuits was the most important achievement achieved with the goal of consumer health, one of the farkhondeh competitive advantages in the field of health.
The expansion of domestic and foreign markets was followed and 5 new products came out of the farkhondeh biscuit oven.

The birth of a “PRANCES” with Cappuccino taste

One of the most special and popular farkhondeh biscuits was produced and marketed, the PRANCES biscuit with the lovely taste of cappuccino quickly gained many fans; Especially among the younger generation and youth.

Exporting to Arabian countries to customer satisfaction

Farkhondeh opened its doors to Kuwait, the UAE and Sudan, and the development of Farkhondeh’s domestic market continued. The new whole grain product was produced and finally decorated with ISO 10002 certification this year. This standard means designing an effective and efficient system for the customer complaints process to increase customer satisfaction and product improvement.

The year of Saffron smell, the birth of digestive biscuit

Farkhondeh’s new saffron-flavored biscuits were born, which is 100% natural and high quality saffron compared to competitors.

Two new products, Digestive Cup Bran and 1000 Sesame biscuit, were launched. Development in domestic and foreign markets continued to accelerate.

Two new products, 1005 Barley Flour and 800 Barley Flour, have joined the basket of Farkhondeh biscuits, and at the same time, Farkhondeh ‘s presence in the domestic and foreign markets was increasing day by day.

Farkhondeh exports to West African countries also began, which again showed the quality of the Iranian brand’s products. Also, two petit beurre biscuits with new and youthful flavors were produced and marketed.

The biscuits became non-transgenic, Farkhondeh traveled to Qatar

After the launch of new lines to increase production volume, the use of non-transgenic raw materials in the production of biscuits to increase consumer health, became operational, and the export of biscuits reached Qatar.

During these years, many sellers and consumers of farkhondeh biscuits demanded that the appearance of the packaging should be changed and new products should be marketed; Three years ago, a study project defined and provided the necessary infrastructure to change the logo and packaging on the eve of Farkhondeh’s 60th birthday, a change that is close to the tastes and expectations of the consumer community.
In addition to new and attractive clothing and appearance, especially for women and the younger generation, innovative and exciting biscuits with flavors according to the tastes of this generation (such as 4 nectar and 3 cereal biscuits) have been produced or are being produced.
